When I mention "smaller ammo storage systems," I'm referring to something that holds just 20 rounds (which is typically the number that comes in JHP cases of self-defense ammo -- not FMJ, which typically comes in 50).
Right now, we either take the cardboard boxes that the ammo typically comes in (which after a few trips tends to degrade) or use after-market plastic cases generally used by reloaders. The problem with them is the hinges tend to fail, the ammo rattles too much, and the grasps that hold the plastic cases shut don't hold the cases shut. Seven out of 10 times, we arrive where we're going and the case has come open.
When I carry around home, I generally carry an officer's model 1911 -- but when we travel, I generally carry an LCP or an LCR simply because of their size. We use a Pelican 1150 case to carry two of these in, but having something smaller would be very nice. I think I could almost get two LCPs into one of your 50 round 45 ammo case -- and if you put a TSA lock on it instead of the current lock, it would be awesome! (I'm aware of what TSA rules say, but 9/10 times, they want TSA locks.)
We are very impressed with your products, and have considered multiple times trying to build our own -- but I'd much rather buy your products. I've given them away as gifts and have a couple of them myself and the quality is outstanding!
Thanks for listening.
